Launching the project on water governance and climate change adaptation
HNN.VN - On May 26, the Center for Social Research and Development (CSRD), in collaboration with Oxfam in Vietnam, organized the project launching workshop “Inclusive and Climate-Resilient Water Governance and Livelihoods in Vietnam” (IP3 Project).

The project is a component of the Mekong Water Governance Program Phase 3 (2025 - 2029), aiming to support vulnerable communities living along the A Sap River.
In Vietnam, the IP3 Project has a total grant funding of 13.34 billion VND, co-funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation through Oxfam. In Vietnam, Oxfam is implementing the project in partnership with three organizations, with CSRD serving as the lead agency for the component in the A Sap River basin, covering A Luoi 3 and A Luoi 4 communes.
The project’s core objective is to strengthen the adaptive capacity and climate resilience of communities living along the A Sap River, as well as aquatic ecosystems and biodiversity. This will be achieved through integrating gender equality and social inclusion into water governance, biodiversity conservation, capacity building, and the development of sustainable livelihoods that are resilient to natural disaster risks.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Thi Dinh, Director of CSRD, stated that the organization will work closely with local authorities, women’s unions, and local residents to promote sustainable livelihood models tailored to the needs of local women. It will also support ethnic minority communities in developing green and circular economies based on nature-based solutions, adapted to A Luoi’s forest and mountainous ecosystems, thereby creating stable sources of income for local residents.
