Receiving and working with the delegation were Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Tran Huu Thuy Giang, along with representatives from the leadership of relevant departments and sectors.
At the working session, representatives from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism presented key contents of the Project’s draft. Accordingly, the Project aims to develop a locality into a national photography hub and an international destination for photography and visual creativity; to form a creative ecosystem linked to the development of the cultural industry, tourism, media, and technology, contributing to promoting the image of Vietnam and its people. The Project will be carried out under a creative-space model during the 2026 - 2029 period.
Reporting at the working session, Hue City People’s Committee expressed strong agreement with the Project’s objectives, and proposed that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism consider selecting Hue as the first locality to coordinate on building and implementing the ‘Vietnam Photography City’ model. The city views this not only as a title, but also a model for cultural-industry development that connects the value of heritage, landscape, tourism, media, technology, and the creative community.

Speaking at the working session, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Tran Huu Thuy Giang said that the initiative of building the national brand ‘Vietnam Photography City’ aligns with the direction of developing the cultural industry and the creative economy while promoting heritage value.
Speaking at the working session, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong stressed that the Project aims not only to develop photography as an art form, but also to position photography as a core link connecting the fields of culture, tourism, media, technology and the creative industries to generate new momentum for socio-economic development.
Commending Hue City’s outstanding advantages, including its system of cultural heritage, natural landscape, and distinctive cultural identity, along with its experience in organizing numerous national-and-international-scale cultural and artistic events, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong said that Hue possesses many favorable conditions for researching and implementing the ‘Vietnam Photography City’ model.
