Hue University moves up to 5th place among Vietnamese Universities

HNN.VN - On the morning of May 2nd, Hue University announced that in the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings 2024, released on May 1st, Hue University retained its position at 601+ from 2023.

 Hue University ranks 5th out of 6 ranked Vietnamese universities

In 2023, Hue University was in 6th place among the Vietnamese universities listed in this ranking. In 2024, however, Hue University has risen 1 rank to the 5th position.

This year, there were 739 higher education institutions from 31 countries and territories participating in the ranking. Vietnam had 6 officially ranked institutions: Ton Duc Thang University (=193); Duy Tan University (251 - 300); Hanoi University of Science and Technology (501 - 600); Hanoi National University (501 - 600); Ho Chi Minh City National University; and Hue University, all in the 601+ group.

THE's ranking methodology is based on five criteria: Teaching, International Outlook, Industry, Research Environment, and Research Quality. 

Among these, Hue University's international outlook was the most highly rated, with a score of 7.5%. This criterion accounts for 7.5% including the proportion of international and domestic students (2.5%), the proportion of international and domestic faculty (2.5%), and international collaboration (2.5%). The ability to attract undergraduate and graduate students as well as faculty from around the world is the key to the university's success in strengthening its international position.

THE has also released rankings for specific academic disciplines, with scores determined using the same five criteria.

With its placement in the 1501+ band of world universities, Hue University continues to affirm its position on THE's prestigious rankings for 2024.
