Closing ceremony of the 2nd Open Pickleball Tournament by Faculty of Physical Education - Hue University

HNN.VN - On the afternoon of November 17th, the trade union of the Faculty of Physical Education (FPE), under the Hue University trade union, held the closing ceremony for the 2nd Open Pickleball Tournament by the FPE – Hue University in 2024.

Pickleball - A new breeze

 Athletes competing with enthusiasm

Held from November 14th to 17th at the FPE sports venue at 52 Ho Dac Di Street, An Cuu Ward, Hue City, the tournament brought together nearly 70 athletes from four universities and member faculties of Hue University, as well as clubs across Hue City. The event aimed to provide a platform for pickleball enthusiasts to connect and exchange experiences while celebrating the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20th, 1982 - November 20th, 2024) and promoting pickleball among staff and workers at Hue University.

Pickleball, originated in 1965 in Washington (USA). Though entering Hue’s sports scene later than some other provinces and cities in Vietnam, this sport has quickly gained a passionate followingamong local sports enthusiasts. Pickleball is a racket sport played with specialized equipment, including paddles, a pickleball ball, and a net. The objective is to score points by hitting the ball over the net and within the court's boundaries while preventing your opponent from doing the same. A player or team wins the game by being the first to reach 11 points with at least a two-point lead.
