Forum “Asia-Pacific Communication Rehabilitation 2024” takes place in Hue

HNN.VN - On December 14, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University held a scientific forum titled “Asia-Pacific Communication Rehabilitation 2024” and a closing ceremony of the KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency) Speech Therapy project.

 Awarding to lecturers making significant contributions to various activities

This is a part of the Science Festival 2024, which was held at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University with the participation of many experts and scientists from Korea, Vietnam, and Laos. The forum focused on the main topic of communication rehabilitation, especially in the treatment of communication disorders following a stroke.

At the forum, Professor Yun-Hee Kim, former President of the Korean Society of Neurological Rehabilitation made a presentation on neurological rehabilitation after stroke, offering new insights into rehabilitation for this patient group. The professor also evaluated the collaborative journey of KOICA project since 2016, highlighting the achievements in the development of the fields of Speech Therapy and Audiology in Vietnam.

The forum also provided an opportunity for graduate students and young officers to participate in oral and poster presentations to share their research findings and practices in the field of communication rehabilitation. This contributed to promoting academic collaboration and practical application.

In the framework of the forum, leaders of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy presented certificates and awards to recognize the contributions of lecturers, researchers, and organizations for their participation in training process.

Addressing the forum, Professor. Dr. Nguyen Vu Quoc Huy, Ph.D. Rector of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University affirmed: “This event is not only an opportunity for academic exchange but also a symbol of the deep friendship between the three countries of Vietnam, Korea, and Laos”.

Professor. Dr. Myoung-Hwan Ko, PhD., President of the Asia-Pacific Communication Disorders Association, emphasized: “Although the KOICA project has concluded, the spirit of cooperation between us continues to grow stronger in the future”.
