Expanding trade, education, and tourism cooperation between Hue and Korea

On the afternoon of September 26th, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Standing Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee, received and held talks with the Korean delegation attending the 2025 Vietnam - Korea Culture Day in Hue. The delegation was led by Mr. Lim Byung Chul, Counselor of Interior Affairs & Safety for the Embassy of Korea in Vietnam.

At the meeting, Mr. Lim Byung Chul expressed his pleasure and gratitude for the warm welcome from Hue City’s leadership; congratulated Hue on becoming a centrally governed municipality; and praised the city authorities for their active coordination in organizing the 2025 Vietnam - Korea Culture Day.

According to him, Hue has abundant potential and advantages for socio-economic development, especially in attracting investment and cooperating with international businesses. Beyond the economy and culture, he emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation in trade, education and training, tourism development, and local exchanges.

On behalf of the city leadership, Standing Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh expressed his delight in welcoming the Korean delegation and reaffirmed that Hue values its friendly cooperative relations with Korea, particularly in tourism, culture, and people-to-people diplomacy - the areas that have already achieved positive results in recent years.

The city leader expressed his hope to expand tourism cooperation, including the promotion of a direct international flight route between Hue and Korea to facilitate people-to-people exchange and tourist flows. At the same time, Hue is ready to foster high-level delegation exchanges with Korean localities to build trust and mutual understanding, while also inviting investment in Hue’s areas of strength.

Children ‘Draw the Future with Books’

After its preliminary round, the 2026 Children’s painting contest based on books, themed ‘Drawing the Future with Books’, attracted over 350 paintings submitted by students aged 6 to 15 from across Hue City.
