Support to Improve Nutrition for Nearly 500 Children in Disadvantaged Communes

HNN.VN - As part of the 2026 National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction, the Hue City Center for Disease Control (Hue CDC) is distributing nutritional products to commune health stations. The effort aims to improve the health and nutritional status of malnourished children aged 5 to 16 in disadvantaged communes.

Accordingly, the program provides support to 461 children with 55,330 doses of the BABIVITA PLUS nutritional product. The products are distributed to commune health stations in A Luoi 1, A Luoi 2, A Luoi 3, A Luoi 4, A Luoi 5, Vinh Loc, Phu Loc, Chan May - Lang Co, and Phu Vang.

The transportation and handover of the products to grassroots healthcare facilities aim to ensure that they reach the allocated areas and enable commune health stations to distribute them to children on the reviewed and verified lists.

Upon receipt, the commune health stations will store and distribute the products free of charge in accordance with regulations, while instructing parents and caregivers on how to use them. Each child will receive one sachet of the nutritional product per day, with 60 doses per intervention section. Two intervention sections are planned, at least 3 months apart.

At the same time, local healthcare workers will monitor children’s nutritional status by tracking their weight and height and assessing their nutrition before the intervention, after each round of supplementation, and at the end of the program. This will be the foundation to track changes in children’s nutritional status, assess the intervention’s effectiveness, and identify appropriate follow-up support.
