Standing Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh stated that in 2025, Hue has the honor of hosting the National Tourism Year. Indicators since the beginning of the year have shown promising growth in tourist arrivals. The South Korean market is one of the key international markets of interest not only for Hue tourism in particular but also for the other localities in Central Vietnam region. With potential, strengths, and similarities, Hue City has coordinated with other localities to develop tourism products designed to attract South Korean visitors to the Central localities.

Through this seminar, Hue City aims not only to promote its image and introduce its unique tourism offerings to the South Korean market but also to enhance connectivity and cooperation with Korean travel businesses, tourism authorities, and related partners in the near future. In particular, both sides plan to collaborate on researching and proposing the opening and maintenance of direct flights between Hue and major South Korean cities.

On this occasion, Hue’s Department of Tourism and KATA officially signed a memorandum of understanding covering key areas of cooperation, with the goal of advancing tourism development and enhancing Hue’s competitiveness and standing in the tourism sector.

The cooperation agreement focuses on effectively promoting Hue’s unique tourism resources and increasing brand recognition in the South Korean market by jointly developing themed tourism programs that align with Korean travelers’ interests. These will focus on royal culture, culinary experiences, wellness tourism, and Vietnam-Korea cultural exchanges. The two parties will also collaborate in organizing and supporting the promotion of destinations, tourism products, events, and cultural performances, as well as researching and proposing the establishment and maintenance of direct flights between Hue and major South Korean cities.
