Previously, according to the decision of the Ministry of Transport, seven provinces and cities carrying out pilot tourist passenger transportation service in urban areas by convertible double decker bus are Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Quang Nam, Da Nang, Thua Thien Hue, Lam Dong, Kien Giang, and Ho Chi Minh City.
The pilot service of transporting tourist passengers in the urban area by convertible double decker bus in Hue City will create favorable conditions for the travel of the locals, enhance traffic safety, meet the demand for sightseeing of domestic and international tourists, proceeding to increase the level of attraction and tourism development of the province.
Under the project, the pilot service of transporting tourist passengers in the urban area by convertible double decker bus in Hue City is carried out in the form of 100 percent socialization. The State does not subsidize the fares for tourists visiting Hue City. The estimated total operating time in a day is eight hours.
The approved roadmap for the project is as follows:
Route H1: Departing from Hue Railway Station → Le Loi Street → Doi Cung Street → Nguyen Thai Hoc Street → Ba Trieu Street → Le Quy Don Street → Hung Vuong Street → Nguyen Hue Street → Ly Thuong Kiet Street → Hanoi Street → Phu Xuan Bridge → Tran Hung Dao Street → Dong Ba Market → Tran Hung Dao Street → Le Duan Street → Da Vien Bridge → Hue Railway Station. The route length is 12 kilometers.
Route H2: Departing from Nguyen Hoang Parking lot → Le Duan Street → Provincial Road 12 (Kim Long Street → Nguyen Phuc Nguyen Street → Thien Mu Pagoda → Nguyen Phuc Nguyen Street → Kim Long Street) → Le Duan Street → Nguyen Hoang Parking lot. The route length is nine kilometers.
Maximum interval between two bus trips is 60 minutes/trip. The number of people allowed to accommodate including the driver is 55 seats, four footholds, and one position for people with disabilities.
