Hue city magnetizes 111 thousand arrivals in 6 days

HNN.VN - According to the Provincial Department of Tourism, from the 29th of Lunar Calendar December to the 4th of Lunar Calendar January, i.e. the 4th of Tet, there were 111,000 tourist arrivals to the ancient capital city. Tourism turnover in Tet holiday has estimatedly gone over VND 66 billion, while social revenue from tourism has reached an evaluation of VND 166 billion.

The total number of guests staying overnight surpasses 60,000; of which more than 51,000 are international, accounting for 85.4%. The occupancy rate was high at 4 and 5-star hotels with an average rate of 90%, up 5% compared to that of Dinh Dau Lunar New Year (not including free arrivals on the New Year's days).

In Hue's heritage sites alone, in the three days from the 30th of Lunar Calendar December to the 2nd of Tet Mau Tuat (the year of the Dog), more than 55,000 arrivals was recorded with nearly 20,000 international visitors. This year, the heritage sites of the city are open free to all Vietnamese and overseas Vietnamese who come home for Tet on the first three days of the Lunar New Year.

To attract more and serve better the visitors, Hue Monuments Conservation Center has organized scores of fascinating and meaningful activities in the Citadel and a number of major attractions.

The security and safety for tourists have been also guaranteed. There has been no reports on guests “ripped off” in peak days.
