The cruise ship named Anthem of the Seas, registered in the Bahamas and operated by Royal Caribbean, bringing 4,455 tourists of various nationalities, including British, Australian, and American landed at the port at 7:00 am and departed at 8:00 pm on the same day.
According to Saigontourist Travel Services Co., Ltd., the company has served nearly 2,000 tourists who purchased travel tours. After landing, visitors visited various attractions and enjoyed local cuisine in Hue, Da Nang, and Quang Nam in one day. As for Hue, the company welcomed over 500 tourists who visited famous landmarks such as Hue Imperial Citadel, the Royal Tomb of Emperor Tu Duc, and Thien Mu Pagoda.

In the framework of the program of welcoming the cruise ship, leaders from the city People’s Committee, the Department of Tourism, the Tourism Association, the People’s Committee of Phu Loc District, Chan May Port Joint Stock Company, the Border Guard Command, Chan May Port Border Gate Station, the Maritime Administration, the Customs Sub-Department at Chan May Port, the Management Board of Hue City Economic and Industrial Zone, Saigontourist Travel Services Co., Ltd., and representatives from various agencies and sectors participated in greeting the first visitors to Hue by sea in 2025. Flowers and gifts were presented to the guests, along with a lively unicorn dance performance to celebrate the New Year. Leaders of Hue City People’s Committee also prepared special souvenirs for the ship’s captain and crew.
Ms. Laura Kozlowski (an American tourist) shared: “I am truly impressed by the warm welcome from the local tourism sector. Everyone is so friendly. I know that Vietnam in general and Hue City in particular is gorgeous, and I look forward to having many exciting experiences here”.

This is one of the activities to celebrate the New Year and kick off a series of events and tourism activities in the city for 2025. It aims to leave a strong impression on visitors about Hue as an attractive, safe, friendly, and hospitable destination. The initiative also aims to further promote Hue’s destinations, products, and tourism services to attract more visitors, especially cruise ship tourists.
In 2024, the tourism sector welcomed 40 cruise ships to Chan May Port, bringing over 90,000 visitors and crew members to Hue. Currently, 49 cruise ships with nearly 99,998 visitors and 39,212 crew members registered to land at Chan May Port in 2025.
