Hue City aims to attract 4.8 - 5 million tourists in 2025

In 2024, Hue welcomed nearly 3.9 million visitors, a 22% increase compared to 2023. Of these, 1.45 million were international visitors, marking a 17% growth, while domestic visitors rose by 25%. International tourists accounted for approximately 36% of the total number of visitors to Hue.

The primary tourist markets included ASEAN, Northeast Asia, Western Europe, North America, and Australia. Tourism revenue for 2024 is estimated at VND 7,900 billion, representing a 20% increase. All key tourism targets for the year were achieved, and the sector received several prestigious awards and recognitions in 2024.

In 2025, the tourism sector plans to build on its success by focusing on the organization of National Tourism Year - Hue 2025. The city aims to attract 4.8 - 5 million visitors, with international tourists making up 38 - 40% of the total. Expected tourism revenue ranges between VND 10,800 - 11,200 billion, with an average stay exceeding two days and an average expenditure of VND 2.1 million per visitor. Key initiatives include securing investment in 3 - 5 new projects to construct five-star hotels and high-quality resorts.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh urged the Department of Tourism to collaborate with local departments and agencies to complete strategic plans such as the “Development of Hue City Tourism and Tourism Services from 2025 to 2030 with a vision to 2045” project. This includes developing mechanisms and policies to promote tourism through detailed planning and programs, planning to implement the program of culture, tourism - services in Hue City in 2025, particularly focusing on the successful and effective organization of the National Tourism Year and Hue Festival 2025.

On this occasion, two individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee for their outstanding achievements in 2024. Additionally, the BAMBOO ARTISTS AGENCY Joint Stock Company was honoured for its exceptional contribution to organizing the Hue Symphony Night, a highlight that boosted Hue's tourism promotion efforts.
