After the prolonged heavy rain and flooding in late October and early November, many traffic routes in Hue were cut off, causing significant difficulties in transporting goods. However, thanks to the proactive efforts of functional units and business households,… the commodity market in the area has basically stabilized, and the supply of essential goods is secured. Although prices have fluctuated, the changes are mainly concentrated on certain fresh products.

On the afternoon of November 5, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Phan Thien Dinh, together with Member of the Standing Committee and Chairwoman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City Nguyen Thi Ai Van, received support from the Hue Fellow Countrymen Association in Ho Chi Minh City to help Hue City overcome the impacts of recent floods.

After the historic flood at the end of October, many businesses, production facilities, and household businesses in Hue City were seriously affected. Deep and prolonged flooding caused damage to machinery, equipment, and goods, and disrupted business operations. Despite the significant damage, these units are striving to recover so as to quickly stabilize production and maintain jobs for workers.

On October 31, Hue City Police announced that they had received and distributed 30 tons of relief goods supported by the Ministry of Public Security for the flood-affected people.

On the morning of September 4, the opening ceremonies of three major international events, including the 19th International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City (ITE HCMC), Export Conference 2025, and the event “Connecting International Goods Supply Chain” officially took place at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC). Hue participated in the event with the joint stall of three localities Quang Tri - Hue - Danang.

On August 4th, the Youth Union and Student Association of the University of Sciences, Hue University, in coordination with the “Song de tim nhau” (“Live to find each other”) volunteer club (Ho Chi Minh City) and the Youth Union of Long Quang Commune, donated school supplies and essential goods to students in this underprivileged area.

With his invention, young engineer Hoang Huu Dao (born in 1983, residing at 60 Phan Chu Trinh, Hue City) has supported the transportation of goods, liberating many workers and shippers across the country from labor. His product has by degrees grown and affirmed the “brand” with many convenient “Loc Phat (Prosperity) Motorbike Cargo Rack” lines.

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, along with the uncertain global economic and political situation, has directly affected the export sector. However, thanks to efforts to diversify markets and export goods, Thua Thien Hue's merchandise export turnover reached 1.1 billion USD in 2023, creating momentum for a breakthrough in 2024.
