Hue City leaders receiving the support from the representatives of Hue Fellow Countrymen in Ho Chi Minh City

Representatives of Hue Fellow Countrymen Association in Ho Chi Minh City handed over 900 million VND and nearly 25 tons of essential goods, including rice, instant noodles, milk, clothing, and dried foods, to support Hue residents in recovering from the recent floods. The donated funds and supplies will be distributed as follows: 200 million VND will go toward free oil changes and motorbike repairs for affected residents; the remaining 700 million VND in cash, along with 200 gift packages, will be delivered to 7 localities, including Loc An, Hung Loc, Dan Dien, Phu Ho, Phu Vang, Phu Xuan, and Phong Dinh (totaling 1,400 aid packages, each worth 500,000 VND in cash and goods).
Assoc. Prof. Tran Xuan Vinh, Chairman of Hue Fellow Countrymen Association in Ho Chi Minh City, shared that in response to the recent severe floods, the association launched a fundraising campaign calling on members and supporters to join hands in assisting the people of Central Vietnam, particularly residents of Hue City, who have suffered significant losses. Dr. Vinh expressed deep sympathy for the hardships faced by Hue residents in the aftermath of the devastating floods.
Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Phan Thien Dinh expressed his sincere gratitude to Hue Fellow Countrymen Association in Ho Chi Minh City for their noble gesture and strong spirit of solidarity. He emphasized that this meaningful support serves as an important source of strength, helping local residents recover from the recent floods. He also assigned the city’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to take the lead in receiving, distributing, and monitoring the relief funds and goods to ensure they are delivered transparently and to the right beneficiaries.
On this occasion, Hue City People’s Committee presented a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Committee to Hue Fellow Countrymen Association in Ho Chi Minh City, with an aim to recognize their noble gesture, spirit of solidarity, and practical contributions in supporting Hue residents to overcome difficulties caused by the recent floods.
The Chairwoman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City presented the “Golden Heart” Certificate to the Hue Fellow Countrymen Association in Ho Chi Minh City in recognition of their timely support for Hue residents affected by the 2025 floods.
On the same day, a working delegation from Vietnam Women’s Union Central Committee and the For Vietnamese Stature Foundation, led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, Vice President of Vietnam Women’s Union, visited and offered encouragement to women members and orphaned children affected by the recent floods in Hue City, presenting financial support worth 250 million VND.

Accordingly, Vietnam Women’s Union Central Committee provided 150 million VND in support, while the For Vietnamese Stature Foundation contributed an additional 100 million VND to Hue City Women’s Union to assist local members, women, and orphaned children affected by the floods. The delegation also visited and presented gifts to households that suffered severe damage in the recent disaster.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien also commended the efforts of Women’s Union officials across Hue City, particularly local chapter leaders, for their prompt coordination with Party committees, authorities, and mass organizations in supporting evacuation, rescue operations, and the distribution of food and essential supplies to heavily flooded and isolated areas. Their dedication helped ensure that no one was left hungry or cold during the storm and contributed to minimizing losses of life and property.
