On the morning of September 8, the Hue Union of Science and Technology Associations held a scientific seminar titled ‘Seeking Input from the Intellectual Community on the Orientation for Hue’s socio-economic Development in the new phase’.

On August 3, the Board of Rectors of the University of Sciences, Hue University (HUSC) held a working session with a delegation from the Kyoto Environmental Activities Association (KEAA), Japan, to discuss cooperation orientations in the fields of environment and sustainable development between the two sides.

On the afternoon of June 11, Standing Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Hoang Hai Minh, along with representatives of local departments and agencies, had an official meeting with a delegation from Fundación Metrópoli of Spain, led by Dr. Alfonso Vegara Gomez, the organization’s Founder and President, to explore strategic orientations for urban planning and sustainable heritage urban development of Hue.

With its potential and advantages in natural resources, local culture, traditional craft villages, and agricultural and fishing livelihoods, regional zoning linked with eco-tourism and community-based tourism (CBT) development orientations will help promote sustainable tourism growth in Hue.

The City People’s Committee has issued a decision to issue the Green Tourism Criteria. The implementation of these criteria aims to concretize the orientation for sustainable, environmentally friendly tourism development, in alignment with the national green growth strategy.

Phu Bai Industrial Park is steadily asserting its role as a key growth driver of the locality, making significant contributions to the socio-economic development of Phu Bai Ward in particular and the city in general. Therefore, from the very beginning, the publishing house has strived to produce works worthy of the historic land of Thuan Hoa,” Dr. Nguyen Duy To, Director of Thuan Hoa Publishing House, quoted the late journalist Hoang Tung, former Secretary of the Party Central Committee, when addressing the functions and development orientation of Thuan Hoa Publishing House at a friendly gathering marking its 45th anniversary (1981-2026), held on the morning of February 10.

During his visit to Hue in early November 2025, General Secretary To Lam conveyed a message to the city’s Party Committee, authorities, and people: Hue must preserve its cultural identity and the distinctive character of Hue people amid a new phase of development. That reminder was not merely an expectation, but a guiding orientation for the entire term.

In the tourism and service development orientation of Hue City for the 2025-2030 period, with a vision to 2045, Hue tourism aims to attract 10-12 million visitors by 2030, achieving annual growth of 18-20%, with international visitors accounting for about 45+50%. Speaking with Hue Today Weekly, Mr. Dinh Manh Thang, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Tourism Association and Chairman of Hue Tourism Association, stated that despite encouraging achievements, Hue tourism still faces issues that require bold change to achieve sustainable development.
