On June 11th, Mr. Hoang Hai Minh, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, held a working session with a South Korean delegation. The meeting aimed to promote cooperation in transportation and urban infrastructure projects while exploring the application of the transit-oriented development (TOD) model associated with Vietnam’s North-South High-Speed Railway.

As part of its international cooperation program, Hue Central Hospital welcomed and worked with a delegation of South Korean partners from June 8th to 10th, 2026, to expand cooperation in healthcare, research and development (R&D), technology transfer, and the development of specialized medical services in Hue City.

On June 9th, a delegation of South Korean businesses led by Professor Heather J.Y. Greene of Koshin University of Medicine visited and attended a working session with Hue City People's Committee. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Tran Huu Thuy Giang, Member of the City Party Committee and Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee.

On the evening of April 17, Hue City People’s Committee held a ceremony to honor and confer the title of “Honorary Citizen of Hue City” to Mr. Kang Bong Jun, a South Korean national, General Director of SMC Hue Co. Ltd., in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the locality’s socio-economic development and international cooperation.

After a three-week artist residency in Hue, on the afternoon of March 27, South Korean artist Sunyoung Park presented her artworks to the public in an exhibition titled “Nostalgia is not what it seems”.

The first charter flight is expected in late March or April 2026, with Hue and its Korean partners planning to launch the inaugural Hue-South Korea charter flight in 2026, followed by efforts to establish regular scheduled service.

On the afternoon of May 30th, the Department of Tourism held a seminar on promoting Hue tourism in the South Korean market and signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation with the Korea Association of Travel Agents (KATA).

On the afternoon of March 25th, Standing Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh hosted a courtesy meeting with Consul General Kang Boo Sung of South Korea in Da Nang.

On the afternoon of March 25, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong had a courtesy meeting with a delegation of the South Korean Consulate General in Da Nang, led by Mr. Kang Boo Sung.

The direct flight connecting Hue with Incheon (South Korea) will take off on July 31. Hue's tourism sector and many travel businesses are pooling efforts to seek opportunities to develop tourism and open the market for Korean tourists in particular and international tourists in general.
