Before flowing into neighboring Laos, the A Sap River gathers alluvial deposits that enrich the riverbanks, creating a vast watershed for the A Luoi region. From this advantage, “fishermen” in the highlands have developed capture fisheries and aquaculture, contributing to the formation of a riverside community - future prosperous “fishing villages” along the river.

On January 27th, Standing Member of the City Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh, together with representatives of city departments and agencies, received and worked with a high-level delegation from Vientiane Capital (Laos). The delegation was led by Comrade Tha Nong Xay Khut Phay Thun, Alternate Member of the Central Committee of Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and Head of the Investment Promotion and Economic Management Board of Vientiane Capital.

On the afternoon of October 28, at the Military Command Headquarters of Salavan Province (Laos), a delegation from the Border Guard Command of Hue City and Quang Tri Province (Vietnam), led by Lieutenant Colonel Tran Minh Toan, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Hue City Border Guard Command, held their annual talk with a delegation from Salavan Provincial Military Command (Laos), headed by Colonel Sophaphoxay Nhavong, Provincial Party Committee Member, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Political Commander of the Salavan Provincial Military Command.

Within the framework of Vietnam - Laos special friendship cooperation program (from October 22-26), a delegation from Hue City People's Council, led by Mr. Nguyen Quang Tuan, Member of the Standing Committee of Hue City Party Committee, and Permanent Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Council, visited, worked and held talks with the Standing Committee of the Salavan Provincial People's Council, Lao People's Democratic Republic.

On the afternoon of September 24, the University of Arts, Hue University, held the opening ceremony of the 2025 International Fine Arts Exhibition themed “Cultural heritage in contemporary art practice”. The event is part of the 2025 International Workshop and Exhibition program, bringing together artists from Japan, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam.

On August 13, Hue City Police announced that they had welcomed a delegation from the police forces of Laos’ provinces of Salavan, Sekong, Champasak, and Savannakhet, at the invitation of Major General Nguyen Thanh Tuan, Director of Hue City Police.

On July 11th, Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Hoang Hai Minh chaired a meeting of the Steering Committee of Luxembourg Projects to review project progress and provide directions and planning for the upcoming period. Co-chairing the meeting was Thomas Lammar, Temporary Representative of the Embassy of Luxembourg in Laos.

With a period of operation for 6 years, the “Carbon Storage and Biodiversity Conservation” Project Phase 2 (CARBI 2) has successfully integrated conservation with sustainable development, aiming to preserve and restore forests in one of the world's biodiversity hotspots - the Truong Son Mountain Range between Vietnam and Laos.

Hong Thai is a commune located near the Vietnam - Laos border, recognized as one of the most economically disadvantaged areas in A Luoi. Over 91% of the population here is of Ta Oi ethnic group, with livelihoods primarily center on agriculture and forestry.

Regardless of day or night, Vientiane (Laos) is not noisy and bustling but strangely quiet. There, thousands of Vietnamese people, many of whom view Vientiane as their second homeland, are earning their living.
