Hue - the tranquil Ancient Capital, where the slow rhythm of life blends with profound cultural depth has long nurtured a dream colored by the green grass of the football pitch: the dream of seeing Hue football present in the V-League, the highest level of Vietnamese football.

Recently, Hue has accelerated its development with the green economy as the central focus, in which the development of green industry is becoming a key pillar, contributing to improving the quality of growth in a sustainable direction.

During his visit to Hue in early November 2025, General Secretary To Lam conveyed a message to the city’s Party Committee, authorities, and people: Hue must preserve its cultural identity and the distinctive character of Hue people amid a new phase of development. That reminder was not merely an expectation, but a guiding orientation for the entire term.

Facing with the growing pressure of increasing household waste volumes, Hue is confronted with the need to renew its approach to urban waste management. In the context of the circular economy becoming an inevitable trend for modern cities, to reuse is not only an environmental action but also a strategy for sustainable development.

In recent years, Hue City has strongly mobilized resources from international organizations to promote green transportation, gradually building a green city with sustainable development.

Amid the global wave of green transition, Hue has no choice but to seize this opportunity to craft appropriate policies and solutions that balance growth objectives with green, sustainable development.

Under the theme “Hue Spring Festival 2026 - Identity and integration”, Hue Spring Flower Festival 2026 will be held at Ly Tu Trong Park, Thuong Bac Park, Kim Long Park (the area opposite Kim Long communal house), 3/2 Park, and at various green spaces and streets in the city.

In recent years, along with the orientation of building Hue into the first bicycle city in Vietnam, green transportation solutions have been increasingly emphasized, in which, the electric-assist conversion kit for bicycles developed by VierCycle, a young engineering team, is being considered a new solution, which is both modern and suitable for the characteristics of a small and peaceful city like Hue.

On the morning of November 9, communes and wards across Hue City simultaneously launched environmental cleanup campaigns in connection with the “Green Sunday” movement, aiming to restore urban landscapes and prevent disease outbreaks following prolonged flooding. City leaders visited several locations to inspect, encourage, and present gifts to participating teams.

“Dear everyone! Let's join hands to make Hue clean and beautiful again soon!” - I paused for a long moment in front of that message - a message sent out by HEPCO (Hue Urban Environment and Public Works Joint Stock Company) just as the floodwaters in Hue slowly, little by little, receded, revealing massive amounts of trash and damaged items submerged in the murky water.
