On January 4th, the Department of Tourism organized a conference to kick off the tourism sector's activities for the year 2024.

At the Award Ceremony of "L'ORÉAL - UNESCO For the Development of Women in Science" in 2023, Assoc. Prof., Dr. Nguyen Thi Ai Nhung made an impression with her “typical Hue” image upon giving a presentation on the research topic relevant to the potential and application of endemic medicinal plants in Thua Thien Hue Province in supporting disease treatment for public health care. She was among three female scientists honored by L'ORÉAL - UNESCO in 2023.

On the morning of January 3, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University held a ceremony to launch the Bachelor’s degree training program in Medical Laboratory Technology, which has met the quality standards of the ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN – QA).

Telling the story of an old lady from Hue with a philanthropic heart, young man Nguyen Duc Minh Hoang (Hue City) excellently surpassed more than 170 contestants nationwide to be awarded the First Prize in the 8th “Young Francophone Reporters 2023" contest.

The “Tet Hue” Festival organized by Hue city is set to kick off a series of activities to welcome the new year 2024, with the highlight being the “Tet Hue” program organized annually on the occasion of celebrating the nation's traditional Tet.

With the theme "Cultural heritage with integration and development", Hue Festival 2024 will include consecutive activities taking place throughout the year. The event aims to honor and promote the unique values of Vietnamese culture in general and Hue culture in particular.

Among the top 10 records for Asian culinary dishes and specialties this year, Thua Thien Hue has two records recognised as Asian records, which are mussel rice (com hen), a culinary dish, and sesame candy (me xung), a local specialty.

Andrea Teufel, a German conservator-restorer, has dedicated almost 20 years of her life to restoring the heritage buildings of Hue. Among the many relics she has worked on, Phung Tien Temple is the one that she researched extensively and worked hard to restore its architectural beauty.
