On September 16th, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Decision No. 2719/QD-BGDDT approving the list of training programs for talented engineers and master's students in STEM fields to participate in the project ‘Training Human Resources for High-Tech Development for the 2025-2035 Period, with a Vision to 2045’ - Phase II of 2026.

More than three decades after UNESCO inscribed the Complex of Hue Monuments as a World Cultural Heritage Site (1993), nearly 200 structures and components have been restored, helping turn heritage into a resource for development in the new period.

At Vietnam - Japan Local Cooperation Forum 2026, the thematic session ‘From Heritage Conservation to Cultural Industries: Unlocking Potential and Connecting Opportunities for Local Cooperation’ highlighted how heritage is increasingly being seen as a resource for development when connected with communities, technology, tourism and cultural industries.

As part of activities promoting the Vietnam - Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, on September 5, in Hue, the Vietnam - Japan Center for Cultural and Educational Cooperation Promotion (VJCE) coordinated with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Osaka to organize the Vietnam - Japan Education Exchange and Cooperation Program 2026.

On July 22nd, 2026, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Official Dispatch No. 4538/BVHTTDL-DSVH to Hue City People’s Committee, expressing its support for Hue in preparing an application to join the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) in the field of Gastronomy. This is an important step, providing further political and professional support for the city to concentrate resources, complete its application and work toward the 2027 selection cycle.

Many valuable archival materials of the Nguyen Dynasty, as well as Hue’s historic structures and rituals, remain scattered across museums, archival centers, and private collections abroad. Through international cooperation and connections with researchers and cultural organizations, Hue is working to bring these archival resources home to support the restoration, conservation, and reconstruction of its heritage.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Te (Editor-in-Chief of the Van Lang University Journal of Science) believes that Hue is standing at a major institutional turning point, where heritage is no longer viewed simply as an object of preservation but as an endogenous resource and a source of soft power for development.

On the afternoon of June 30, the Hue Brass Band Club held its founding congress for the 2026 -2031 term, marking a significant milestone in consolidating its organizational structure after over 5 years of operation. It also aims to further develop the club as a distinctive cultural institution, contributing to the preservation and promotion of Hue’s brass band musical heritage.

On June 23, Party Central Committee Member, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Chairman of the City People’s Committee Nguyen Khac Toan chaired a meeting to review and finalize the medium-term public investment plan using state budget capital for the 2026 - 2030 period and assess the implementation and disbursement of public investment funds in 2026.

On the afternoon of June 11, the School of Engineering and Technology, Hue University officially launched the Japanese-Standard Engineering Training Program, marking a strategic cooperation between the institution and Nisso Kosan (under the management of Nisso Corporation) and Meisei Group (Japan) in the field of training, education, and high-quality human resource development.
