Viewed from the realities of conserving and promoting cultural heritage, successive generations at the Hue Monuments Conservation Center have continually wrestled with a question: how can heritage be more than merely “preserved”…

On the afternoon of March 6, Hue Tourism College (under the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism) held a conference on career guidance and enrollment for 2026. Attending the event were representatives of state management agencies, 51 high schools and secondary schools, as well as businesses and organizations involved in training and human resource development.

On March 3rd, coinciding with the Nguyen Tieu (first Full Moon) Festival of the Year of the Horse 2026, the Department of Agriculture and Environment released nearly 100.000 fish into the Huong River to help restore local aquatic resources. Species included crucian carp, yellow catfish, climbing perch and common carp.

There are people who work their entire lives quietly, yet their footprints remain deeply imprinted on the lands they have passed through, like an underground stream that silently nourishes an entire forest. Associate Professor Dr. Le Van Thang, Vice President of Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment, former Director of the Institute of Resources and Environment at Hue University, and former Dean of the Faculty of Environment at the University of Sciences, Hue University, is one such person.

This forest simulates the most typical and representative characteristics of the tropical rainforest ecosystem of the Central Coastal provinces and cities. Beyond its significance in conserving and preserving biodiversity and valuable genetic resources of forest plant species that are characteristic and representative of the tropical rainforest ecosystem, the site also opens up strong prospects of becoming a destination for research and learning, as well as a unique highlight serving eco-tourism.

This was the directive of the Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee, Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan, at the conference reviewing the 2025 work results and deploying tasks for 2026 of Hue Monuments Conservation Center (HMCC), held on the afternoon of January 9th. ​

The year 2026 opens the 2026–2030 period, marked by increasingly fierce competition to attract resources, talent, and visitors, while Hue cannot pursue rapid urbanization or heavy industry. Hue’s path must be its own: taking heritage, culture, landscape, and ways of life as deep, distinctive, and sustainable advantages; taking creativity and experience as driving forces; and placing the people of Hue at the center of all development policies.

Tourism is increasingly becoming a key economic driver for many countries. However, the challenge lies in how to develop and capitalize on tourism without exceeding nature’s carrying capacity, while also contributing to its conservation.

On the morning of December 22, a workshop was held in Hue City to launch the mission “Promoting human resource management for Vietnamese healthcare system, focusing on HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis prevention and control”. The workshop aimed to finalize the plans, content, and implementation methods for scientific and technological tasks in the new phase, contributing to improving the operational efficiency of local healthcare system.

Viet Nam is entering an entirely new stage of development for its cultural industries - where culture is recognized as a strategic asset, an endogenous resource, a driver of creativity, and a pillar of the national growth model.
