This year’s National Day vacation (September 2nd) is again bringing a surge of tourists to Hue. Alongside careful facility preparation, many accommodation businesses in the city have proactively refreshed their services, paying attention to even small details in the guest experience to give visitors a joyful, comfortable holiday.

The Shuttlecock World Championships 2026 took place in the Federal Republic of Germany from August 25 to 30. Contributing to the Vietnamese national team’s title defense, athletes from Hue City achieved impressive results.

On the morning of August 30, over 4,500 delegates and residents gathered at the Hue City Culture and Sports Square to take part in the “Together with Vietnam, Moving Forward” walking program. The event shared the same atmosphere of excitement, enthusiasm, and solemnity with 34 provinces and cities nationwide, spreading the message ‘10 Billion Green Steps - For a Sustainable Vietnam’ and promoting the spirit of national solidarity.

On the morning of August 29, the Union of Science and Technology Associations of the city, in coordination with the Department of Health, Hue Central Hospital, and the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, held a national scientific conference themed ‘Climate Change and Non-Communicable Diseases: Issues and Solutions’.

As the five-day National Day holiday approaches, featuring a vibrant lineup of cultural, artistic, sports, and experiential activities, Hue is expected to welcome over 500,000 tourist arrivals.

The 28-page special edition of Hue Today celebrating National Day on September 2 will be published in place of the Hue Today Weekly issue scheduled for August 30, and the regular Hue Today issues scheduled for August 31 and September 1.

On the evening of August 24, Huong Giang Poetry Club held a poetry program celebrating the 81st anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2026), drawing a large number of club members and poetry enthusiasts.

The 2026 National Archery Championships kicked off on the morning of August 24th at Tu Do Stadium. The tournament is part of Hue Sports Festival 2026, jointly organised by Hue City Department of Culture and Sports and Vietnam Sports Authority.

The final match of the 2026 National Hometown Football Tournament took place on the afternoon of August 23 at the PM Sport artificial turf field in Ho Chi Minh City. Despite making their debut in the tournament, Hue Hometown FC advanced all the way to the final, with their journey carrying significant meaning along the way.

As Phu Dien Tower, a National-level Architectural and Artistic Relic, faces growing challenges from climate change and natural disasters, experts have proposed a number of conservation measures, including studying options to raise the entire tower structure or foundation, and installing pumping and drainage systems.
