On Facebook, amid the flood of news and images of inundation, among the urgent rescue and relief efforts by authorities and functional forces, I came across an image that warmed my heart: hot meals being packed and prepared for their journey from the area of fomer Phu Thuan to Hue Central Hospital, to be given to hungry patients trapped by the floods.

On the morning of October 31st, Mr. Phan Thien Dinh, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee, together with leaders of local departments and agencies, received 1 billion VND in aid from Carlsberg Vietnam to help local residents recover from the recent flood damage.

To proactively respond to disruptions in water supply following the floods, on October 31st, Hue Water Supply Joint Stock Company (HueWACO) urgently implemented a mobile water supply plan to promptly meet the daily needs of residents in heavily affected areas of Phu Bai Ward, particularly in the former Phu Son and Duong Hoa areas.

In response to the severe damage caused by prolonged flooding from October 27 to 30, 2025, which deeply inundated many areas and seriously affected the lives of thousands of workers in Hue City, numerous businesses across the area have promptly implemented support measures to help employees stabilize their lives as soon as possible.

Following the free motorbike repair program, Hue Industrial College has launched another initiative to provide free repair services for electrical equipment, electronic appliances, as well as, refrigeration equipment damaged by the recent floods in Hue City.

On the afternoon of October 30, Comrade Tran Cam Tu, Politburo member and Permanent Member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee’s Secretariat, visited and inspected the flood situation and post-flood recovery efforts in Hue City.

On the afternoon of October 30, Deputy Secretary of Hue City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Nguyen Chi Tai, together with Standing Committee member and Chairwoman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City Nguyen Thi Ai Van, received donations from agencies, units, businesses, and organizations to support the city’s recovery efforts following recent floods.

On the morning of October 30, the Department of Tourism announced that the International Tea Festival - Hue 2025 will be postponed and held on December 10 - 12 due to the impact of the flood.

On the morning of October 29th, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired an online meeting with central provinces and cities including Hue, Da Nang, Quang Tri, and Quang Ngai to discuss emergency response measures to the extremely severe floods currently affecting the region.

As many areas of Hue City are still submerged under water, warm lunchboxes prepared by women and kindhearted volunteers were delivered to residents in flooded neighborhoods and to patients in hospitals, bringing warmth and comfort to countless hearts as people continue to battle the floods.
