Ho Dac Cung, a young Hue native raised in Cai Lay, Tien Giang, developed a passion for engine mechanics and, through self-teaching, built his own airplane. In 1935, faced with financial constraints, he wrote to Emperor Bao Dai seeking assistance and received the monarch’s approval.

In the 2024-2025 National Excellent Student Exam, students from Hue City achieved 85 awards, placing Thua Thien Hue among the top-performing provinces nationwide. This marks a record-breaking year with the highest number of national awards ever achieved by the city’s teams.

As part of the Book and Reading Culture Day program in 2025, on April 24, Hue City Library summarized a book cover design contest about Hue with the theme “Hue City, my hometown”.

In Da Lay commune (Da Teh district, Lam Dong province), the new homeland of the people from Hue today, it is hard to recognize the traces of the hardships from nearly half a century ago. We arrived at the Da Lay market in the Central Highlands and felt as if we were back in Hue, enjoying street food and chatting at a corner of Dong Ba or An Cuu markets…

Although she has chosen a reclusive life on the edge of Thien An forest (Hue City), just as the saying goes, “good wine needs no bush,” many international tourists visiting Hue have asked travel companies to take them to meet People’s Artisan Hoang Thi Nhu Huy so that they can converse with her and gain a deeper understanding of Vietnamese culture.

On the afternoon of April 21, the University of Sciences, Hue University held various activities to respond to the 4th “Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day” in 2025.
