Early on the morning of March 15th, at the Xa Tac Esplanade (Thuan Hoa ward, Hue City), Hue Monuments Conservation Center solemnly organized the Xa Tac Ritual 2024 to pray for national prosperity, favorable weather, abundant harvests, and the well-being of the people.

Alongside the significant programs and activities that have been taking place in the city to create a joyful and bustling atmosphere to welcome the Lunar New Year of Dragon, Hue City focuses on embellishing the streets to celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year), with the highlight of the 2024 Spring Festival stretching from the south bank of the Perfume River to parks and green spots in the city.

Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc, Director of the Provincial Department of Tourism, said that on the evening of January 26, within the framework of the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF), there was an award ceremony for the ASEAN Clean Tourist City Awards, taking place in Vientiane, Laos. The three cities representing Vietnam have been awarded (which will be effected from 2024 to 2026) namely: Hue (Thua Thien Hue Province), Vung Tau (Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province), and Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh Province).

Among the top 10 records for Asian culinary dishes and specialties this year, Thua Thien Hue has two records recognised as Asian records, which are mussel rice (com hen), a culinary dish, and sesame candy (me xung), a local specialty.

In 2023, tourism activities in the area of Hue City have recovered and shown good growth. The number of tourists visiting Hue has increased significantly, especially international tourists, leading to a substantial rise in the overall retail sales of goods and services. This contributed to Hue City achieving and surpassing all 12 economic and social targets for the year.

From the 23rd position nationwide in 2016, Thua Thien Hue's spearhead education has risen to 9th, and its position in the top 10 has been maintained and consolidated in recent years.

The recent serious flood in mid-November caused significant damage to many vegetable-producing areas. Racing against the time, right after the water receded, local famers took advantage of dry days to quickly clean up the mud, join hands to rebuild their fields, trim and replant new vegetables to meet the agricultural schedule.

Thua Thien Hue has the most dishes honored in Phase I of the project, including Hue beef noodle soup, tapioca dumpling stuffed with roasted pork sweet soup, mussel rice, tapioca dumplings, vegetarian fig salad, and vegetarian steamed rice wrapped in lotus leaf.

Grown for its beauty and fruits, persimmon is a high-rise tree in Hue gardens. Despite not having high economic value, ancient persimmon trees carry spiritual and cultural value and are closely linked to the lives of many traditional families in the Huong Ngu region.

These are 6 of 121 Vietnamese culinary dishes that have just been honored by the Vietnam Cuisine Culture Association (VCCA) as typical national dishes in phase I of a project titled "Building and Developing Vietnamese Culinary Culture into a National Brand Name”. All of these 6 dishes, including: Hue beef noodle soup, glutinous rice dumplings stuffed with roasted pork in sweet soup, mussel rice, banh loc (glutinous rice dumplings), vegetarian fig salad, and lotus-leaf-wrapped steamed rice; all are close to the gardens and paddy fields of the land.
