After days of floods, Hue welcomes the cold along with light, lingering rain, in between dry days and occasional sunshine. Once again, Hue gently returns to its peaceful rhythm of everyday life, preparing itself as best as possible to welcome the New Year 2026.

On the afternoon of December 14th, at the People’s Committee of A Luoi 5 Commune, the City Border Guard Command, in coordination with its partner units, organized a gift-giving program to support people facing difficult circumstances and those affected by floods.

On the morning of December 9, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired an online conference to hear reports on the progress of Quang Trung Campaign - an accelerated drive to rebuild and repair homes for families whose houses were collapsed, swept away, or severely damaged during the recent storms and floods.

People say that after days submerged in floodwater, when the water recedes, the ground is left with a dull, gloomy gray. Yet it is within that muted palette that the resilient life force of nature begins to sprout - taking root, greening again, and stirring with new vitality through the caring hands of the city’s green-park workers.

On December 6th, Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank) provided financial support to help residents of Hue City recover from the damage caused by the recent floods. Mr. Nguyen Chi Tai, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City, received and worked with the delegation.

On December 2 and 3, a working delegation from the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City, led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Ai Van, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, and Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City, visited and presented financial support to South Central provinces to overcome damage after typhoons and floods.

On the morning of December 1st, the Department of Education and Training (DOET) presented Certificates of Merit to the following schools: Gia Hoi High School, Huong Vinh High School, Dang Tran Con High School, Ly Tu Trong Secondary School, Phu Binh Primary School, and Ngo Kha Primary School, for effectively carrying out flood prevention and post-flood recovery efforts during the recent flooding events.

Along with social welfare activities, banks in the area have been surveying the damage sustained by customers affected by floods. Based on this, they proposed timely support measures to help residents and businesses overcome difficulties.

On the afternoon of November 27, the working delegation of Ton Dong A Corporation presented a great number of school supplies to support students in the city area in overcoming damages caused by the recent floods.

On the afternoon of November 26th, the Youth Union of Hue Central Hospital (HCH), in coordination with the Vietnam Young Physicians Association and the People’s Committee of Hung Loc Commune, organized a program providing medical examinations, health consultations, and free medicine to residents affected by the prolonged flooding. This humanitarian activity aims to help people quickly stabilize their physical and mental well-being and proactively prevent diseases in the post-disaster period.
