Quang Dien Commune Inaugurates Storm and Flood Shelter

The project broke ground on September 26, 2025, with a total investment of over VND 1.2 billion. The two-story Pho Nam A Village Cultural House is designed to withstand flooding, serve community activities, and function as an evacuation shelter for residents during storms and floods.
The project brings a practical significance, reflecting the strong commitment of Quang Dien local authorities, the Department of Irrigation and Climate Change, and the Institute for Social and Environmental Transition (ISET) to improving the lives of residents in low-lying areas frequently affected by natural disasters.
According to Mr. Tran Lieu, Head of Pho Nam A Village, the area is located in a low-lying zone and is frequently deeply flooded during the rainy and flood season. The operation of the Village Cultural House not only meets community activity needs but also provides a safe evacuation site, contributing to protect residents’ lives and property during storms and floods.
