On the evening of May 30th, at A Luoi 2 Commune, Hue City Department of Culture and Sports officially opened the first “Mountain Ethnic Groups Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival" 2026.

From the evening of May 29 to May 31, 2026, the first “Cultural, Sports and Tourism Festival of mountainous ethnic groups” is being held in the communes, namely A Luoi 1, A Luoi 2, and A Luoi 3.

In the familiar space of schools, tuong - a traditional stage art form once thought to be “hard to approach” for young people - is being brought to life through hands-on experiences. Through makeup sessions, lessons, and opportunities to explore and feel the values of tuong firsthand, this approach is helping younger generations grow closer to cultural heritage and creating new ways to incorporate traditional culture into schools.

While many primary school children in Vietnam are often occupied with their homework, extra classes, or exam preparation after school, children in many states across the United States, even those as young as 5, have opportunities to engage in business activities, financial management, and community fundraising beyond the classroom. Skills that are often considered “to be learned later in life” are introduced at an early age and have become an important part of liberal education in the United States.

At dawn, the coastal area of Vinh Loc Commune was already bustling with activity. On the sandy shore, groups of fishermen busily prepared for the first drag-net haul of the day. Boats returning after a night of fishing hurried back to shore. Amid this energetic rhythm of labor, many young people came to directly experience the lives of fishermen in the coastal fishing village.

Over the course of 2 days, from May 12 to 13, the Sub-Department of Irrigation and Climate Change, in coordination with the City Red Cross Society, organized a training course on first aid, rescue, and emergency response skills for disaster prevention and control task forces in 2026.

The annual April 30th reunion of our middle school friends from Thanh Thuy Ward had a special highlight this year. Before heading to Vinh Thanh beach (Phu Vinh Commune), we made a detour to visit the Thuan An overpass bridge on the very day of its official technical opening. There, we shared in the joy of a large crowd of local residents who were seeing this modern bridge with their own eyes for the first time after years of waiting.

The first “Cultural, Sports and Tourism Festival of Mountainous Ethnic Groups” of Hue City in 2026 is part of the “Summer Festival” program of Hue Festival 2026. It is held periodically and rotates among localities where ethnic minority communities settle and live.

At noon on April 29, beach wrestling at the 6th Asian Beach Games (ABG6) - 2026 officially concluded. Two female wrestlers from Hue wrestling team made notable contributions to the overall success of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at this year’s Games.

Every April, when the first rays of early summer sunlight touch the surface of the lakes, pink and white lotus buds of Hue gently and proudly emerge from the water in bloom.
