The tourism market on the occasion of Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day and the April 30th – May 1st holiday in 2026 began heating up as early as the beginning of March. Unlike previous years, travelers are increasingly booking earlier and favoring short-haul trips over long-haul experiential journeys.

Kicking off Hue Ao Dai Week 2026, scheduled to take place from July 3 to 10, is the event “Ao dai Connecting Tourism and Heritage”, which will be held on the morning of July 3 at the Quoc Tu Giam area.

A ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of Vietnam Sports Day (March 27th, 1946 – March 27th, 2026), organized by the Department of Culture and Sports, was held on the afternoon of March 27 at the City Culture and Cinema Center. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee, attended and extended congratulations and encouragement.

On March 26th, favorable weather drew large numbers of residents and tourists to visit and experience Hue Monuments Complex during the free admission program for Vietnamese citizens on the occasion of Hue Liberation Day.

On the morning of March 26th, in Chan May - Lang Co Commune (Hue City), FUTA Land Real Estate Joint Stock Company held the groundbreaking ceremony for Chan May Social Housing Project (located in Chan May Urban Area, Lot No. 8). The event was held to mark the 51st anniversary of Hue Liberation Day (March 26th, 1975 - March 26th, 2026).

Now in its fifth year, Hue has been hosting the Four Seasons Festival (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter). Instead of concentrating activities within a few peak days as in the past, the Hue Four Seasons Festival is implemented under a new model, featuring a continuous series of cultural, artistic and tourism events throughout the year to honor heritage, promote tourism and create new experiences for visitors.

The launching ceremony of the “All people practice physical exercise following the example of the great Uncle Ho” campaign; the Olympic Run Day “For Public Health - For National Security”; and the opening of the 34th Traditional cross-country Race 2026 – an event of the 10th City Sports Festival, took place on the morning of March 22nd at Nghinh Luong Dinh Pavilion.

In celebration of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2026), the 51st anniversary of Hue’s Liberation Day, and the successful election of deputies to the National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term, many schools across the city have organized vibrant activities, fostering a spirit of enthusiasm in learning and self-improvement among students.

In 2000, in the short piece entitled “Hue Diary,” written when he returned for the first Hue Festival, musician Trinh Cong Son wrote, “When you have a place to return, or to visit from time to time, you are very fortunate. There, you have a river, a mountain, and you can find again your old friends whose hair used to be black has now turned grey. You might suddenly meet a Hue girl on the street and ask her, ‘Is there anything new in Hue now?’ And immediately, or perhaps by chance, she will recite the two lines from a poem by Bui Giang: “Da thua xu Hue bay gio/ Van con nui Ngu ben bo song Huong” (“Yes, sir, Hue now/ Still has Ngu Mount by the Huong river…”)
