A July Tribute Journey by the Youth of Hue Newspaper and Radio-Television

HNN.VN - On the morning of July 26, the Youth Union of Hue Newspaper and Radio-Television, in collaboration with partner organizations, organized a tribute journey to mark the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026), featuring a series of meaningful activities.

In Phong Dien Ward, the youth members of Hue Newspaper and Radio-Television joined the local Youth Union in offering incense at Ba Truc Slope Historical Site, a landmark of revolutionary heritage that witnessed many significant events during the resistance war against the French and the Vietnam War.

During the resistance war against the French, Ba Truc Slope served as a key route leading to the Bac Field Hospital and the Hoa My resistance base. During the Vietnam War, it became a vital artery connecting the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Military Command, the Bac Field Hospital (under Military Hospital 268), mass organizations, and the C4K200 Youth Volunteer Company of Military Region 4… The route also served as a strategic gateway to revolutionary base areas used by the main-force regiments. Ba Truc Slope was later recognized as a provincial-level historical site and has since become a landmark of revolutionary heritage in Phong Dien Ward.

On the occasion, the delegation also presented 20 gift packages to war invalids, sick soldiers, policy beneficiary families, and those with meritorious services to the revolution in the locality.

They also visited and presented VND 2 million in financial assistance to Van Dinh Nhat Nam, the foster brother supported by the Youth Union of Hue Newspaper and Radio-Television. Nam is the second of three siblings. His father passed away at an early age, leaving the family in difficult circumstances. Although modest in value, the gift reflected the care and compassion of the unit’s youth members, encouraging Nam to overcome hardships and strive for success in his studies and daily life.

Later the same day, the Youth Union of Hue Newspaper and Radio-Television, together with the Hue City Youth Union, the Youth Union of Phong Thai Ward, and several other organizations, organized the “Family Meal – Sharing Warmth and Love” program at the home of Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Thui.

The youth members helped prepare a family meal, spent time talking with Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Thui, inquired about her health, and listened to stories about her life and her family’s sacrifices during the country’s resistance wars. The warm and intimate atmosphere of the meal not only reflected the enduring traditions of ‘when drinking water, remember its source,’ and ‘repay a debt of gratitude to those who sacrificed for the nation’, but also contributed to spreading these cherished values to the younger generation.
