On the evening of July 4, at the City Cinema and Culture Center, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with Hue City People’s Committee, held the opening ceremony of the 2026 “Playing folk musical instruments and singing folk songs from the three regions” Festival.

Amid the rapidly changing pace of modern life, in the ethnic minority communities of Hue City, traditional culture continues to be quietly revived and preserved. This is part of an ongoing effort to restore the distinctive cultural values of the Bru–Van Kieu people.

On June 30, Hue Junior School of Culture and Arts awarded diplomas to 73 full-time students of the 3-year program (2023 - 2026 course) and of the 2-year program (2024 - 2026 course).

On June 24, Hue City Women’s Union, in coordination with the city’s Forest Protection Department, the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the Small Grants Programme (SGP), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), organized the program “The Cultural Colors of the Bru - Van Kieu People” in Phuc Loc Village, Hung Loc Commune.

Cultural industries, based on knowledge, creativity, identity, and technology, are emerging as one of the key growth drivers for many nations. In this context, placing culture at the center of development strategy - as expressed in the spirit of Resolution 80-NQ/TW dated January 7, 2026, of the Politburo on the development of Vietnamese culture - is not merely a political orientation but an inevitable imperative of the era. ​

On the evening of June 12, the Hue Festival Trade Fair 2026 officially opened at Hue City Culture and Sports Square.

On the morning of June 10, the Department of Tourism announced that Hue has officially been nominated in the Asia’s Leading Culture City Destination 2026 category at the World Travel Awards (WTA) for the Asia and Oceania region.

The culture and way of life in the highlands possess a unique charm. This appeal comes not only from the distinct customs, cuisine, and lifestyle, but also from the unique stories of the mountains and forests preserved by ethnic minority communities, as well as their cultural identities passed down through generations.

On the evening of May 30th, at A Luoi 2 Commune, Hue City Department of Culture and Sports officially opened the first “Mountain Ethnic Groups Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival" 2026.

As part of the 1st Festival of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Ethnic Groups in Mountainous Areas, on the morning of May 30, the Highland Culinary Festival and Traditional Cooking Contest officially launched at A Luoi 2 Commune Market.
