At the specialized session on “Green and Sustainable Tourism Development” held on the morning of June 6th within the framework of the 14th East Asian Local Government and Regional Conference, Hue affirmed its pioneering position in the region regarding the development orientation of environmentally-friendly tourism that harmonizes with communities and preserves heritage.

On the morning of June 6, the 14th East Asia Local and Regional Government Congress officially opened in Hue City. The event was attended by 200 delegates from over 30 delegations representing local governments from China, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, and Vietnam.

In the radiant dawn of the lagoon region, travelers from afar sip rich, flavorful coffee while enjoying the vast, beautiful scenery of rippling waters. This fresh experience has been developed into a tourist attraction, creating a unique highlight for visitors to Tam Giang – Cau Hai Lagoon.

The 14th East Asia Local and Regional Government Congress will take place in Hue City from June 5th to 7th, 2025, with the participation of over 200 delegates from 16 international localities (across 4 countries), 10 domestic localities, 2 international organizations, various ministries, and diplomatic representative agencies.

On the morning of June 1st, in Vinh Thanh Commune (Phu Vang District), the People's Committee of Hue City, in coordination with the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army and Military Region 4, organized a program in response to World Environment Day, Vietnam Sea and Island Week, and launched the “Summer Youth Volunteer” campaign, and the “Youth with the Homeland’s Seas and Islands” program 2025.

Over time, the remaining French architectural works in Hue ancient Imperial City are considered valuable architectural heritage, adding a touch of elegance to the historical and cultural flow of the region.

Taking place in the space at the Hue Imperial Citadel, the exhibition of bonsais, orchids, and ornamental stones from the three regions attracted thousands of visitors. The event also honored 104 most excellent works from the three regions all over the country.

With more than 25 years of collaboration with Hue Monuments Conservation Center, Prof. Satoh Shigeru, a leading expert in the field of landscape study and urban planning at Institute of Urban and Regional Studies, Waseda University in Japan, has made many interesting discoveries about the mountain-water landscape in Hue. Thousands of unique works of bonsais, orchids, and artistic ornamental stones, along with the finest crafts and traditional cultural beauty have gathered at Hue Imperial Citadel, creating a vibrant exhibition space in the heart of the heritage site.

After the country was reunified, the Pioneering Youth force transitioned to a new mission: overcoming the consequences of war and contributing to economic development. In response to the revolutionary call at that time, Binh Tri Thien Province and Hue City established two Pioneering Youth regiments tasked with surveying, building roads, clearing land, and constructing homes to welcome thousands of families from Hue to settle in the southern regions and establish new Hue communities far from home. Among the many resettlement programs, one new homeland for Hue people was founded nearly half a century ago: the Huong Lam New Economic Zone (NEZ), now part of Da Lay Commune, Da Huai District, in the southern part of Lam Dong Province…
