To ensure sustainable and effective cooperation, Hue University has been implementing synchronous policies for the development of high-quality human resource. One of the notable highlights in the internationalization strategy is the policy of sending staff and lecturers abroad for further study and professional development.
In the period of 2015 - 2025, Hue University has sent nearly 3,000 turns of staff and lecturers to participate in short-term and long-term courses, and academic assignments at prestigious international schools, institutes, and organizations. This is the core force that plays a role in spreading knowledge and innovating teaching methods upon returning to the university. Additionally, Hue University has also received a large number of international experts and lecturers to teach, conduct research, attend conferences and seminars, or introduce scholarship programs, creating a multi-dimensional and integrated academic environment.
Expanding global learning network
According to Dr. Bui Van Loi, Deputy Director in charge of Hue University, Hue University has established cooperative relations with more than 400 universities, research institutes, and educational science organizations across more than 30 countries worldwide, spanning from Asia and Europe to the Americas. These partnerships are not only limited to academic exchange, but also extend to joint research programs, technology transfer, collaborative training, and faculty and student exchange.
Notably, Hue University is implementing 21 joint training programs at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels with foreign universities, enabling students to access advanced curricula and receive international degrees right in Vietnam, or have opportunities to study and transfer abroad. Some major partners include University of Liège (Belgium), Rennes 1 University (France), Chungnam National University (the Republic of Korea), Yokohama National University (Japan), and Australian National University (ANU), etc.
Through these programs, undergraduate and postgraduate students are trained in modern professional knowledge; simultaneously, in doing critical thinking, international integration capability, and language skills - key factors in the global labor market.
Since 2015, Hue University has organized hundreds of international workshops and training sessions, focusing on specialized topics such as biotechnology, environmental education, sustainable development, modern pedagogical skills, and artificial intelligence, etc. These serve not only as venues for knowledge updates, but also as reputable academic forums for lecturers, research fellows, and students to exchange and learn from leading international experts.
With the goal of becoming a research-oriented and innovative university, Hue University is gradually reforming its model for international cooperation management towards greater professionalism and efficiency. Focus is placed on mechanisms to support staff in registering for international research projects, participating in global academic networks, and improving foreign language proficiency for staff and students. The establishment of representative offices and international cooperation centers within member units facilitates the rapid deployment of joint programs, signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoU), organizing talks, and receiving foreign delegations.
