On the late afternoon of July 24, the Department of Tourism, in coordination with relevant units, organized the National Bun bo Hue Festival. This is one of the highlight activities of the Hue - Culinary Capital 2026 program, aimed at honoring traditional values and spreading the Bun bo Hue brand to a wide audience of residents and visitors.

Beyond a celebration of Hue Beef Noodle, the iconic dish of the Ancient Capital, the Hue - Culinary Capital 2026 program has become a vibrant showcase of culinary excellence from across Vietnam. From Hue’s traditional flavors to regional specialties from every corner of the country, each food stall and every dish tells a story of Vietnam’s rich cultural identity, taking visitors on a journey that awakens all their senses.

On the afternoon of July 23, in commemoration of the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026), Hue City Youth Union, the City Vietnam Youth Federation, in coordination with the City Veterans Association, organized the program “The fiery era - Honoring the past, carrying the flame forward” at Cinestar Hue (Thuan Hoa Ward).

On the evening of July 23, at Thuong Bac Park in Phu Xuan Ward, Hue City, Hue - Culinary Capital 2026 program, themed ‘Bun bo Hue (Hue beef noodle soup) Day’, officially opened. The program is led by the Department of Tourism, in coordination with relevant units, as part of Hue Festival 2026 series of events.

Over 3 weeks since the campaign was launched, up to now, nearly 580,000 residents across Hue have received regular health check-ups, accounting for 45.4% of the city’s population. The encouraging result marks significant progress in the implementation of the nationwide health screening program, helping detect diseases at an early stage, improve the quality of healthcare services, and gradually build a synchronized electronic health records system.

On the afternoon of July 16th, in Khe Tre Commune, the Youth Union of the Party Agencies, in collaboration with the Youth Union and Student Association of the University of Sciences, Hue University and the Khe Tre Commune Youth Union, organized the Peak Day of the 2026 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, featuring a wide range of community welfare initiatives, livelihood support programs, and activities benefiting ethnic minority communities.

On the morning of July 15th, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy held a ceremony to confer graduation certificates and award Level 1 Specialist Doctor degrees to 37 physicians from the 2024 - 2026 cohort, the tenth class trained under Project 585 - the Ministry of Health's pilot program ‘Young Volunteer Doctors for Underserved Areas’.

Hue Today No. 474 features a range of notable stories, including the city’s regular citizen reception program, the training of doctors for mountainous areas, ongoing DNA sampling to identify fallen soldiers, and a talk show by a professor with students on the enduring love for the ao-dai.

The People's Committee of Hue City has issued Plan No. 318/KH-UBND to implement the Action Program for carrying out the Politburo's Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW on the development of Vietnamese culture in the new era. More than a timely move to translate a major central policy into concrete action, the plan marks an important milestone, demonstrating that Hue is choosing the right path for its development in the years ahead.

On July 13th and 14th, Hue Odonto-Stomatology Hospital, in collaboration with Hong Lien Foundation, Inc., organized a community outreach program providing free dental examinations, consultations, and treatment, along with charitable donations, for residents in the mountainous district of A Luoi. The initiative aims to improve oral health while promoting compassion and supporting social welfare.
