Over the National Day (September 2) holiday, Hue welcomed a large number of visitors from near and far, creating a vibrant and bustling atmosphere. From the Imperial Citadel and heritage sites to scenic spots, craft villages, and community-based tourism destinations, visitors can be seen sightseeing, experiencing local activities, posing for check-in photos, and capturing memorable moments on their journey to discover the Ancient Capital.

On the evening of August 30, the Department of Tourism held a tourism promotion and introduction program titled ‘Connecting Heritage, Shaping the Future: Hue - Northeastern Thailand’.

Rather than simply introducing familiar destinations and famous attractions in Hue, TikTokers and Facebookers (digital content creators on TikTok and Facebook) are now offering new perspectives on the city’s tourism and people through short videos and candid reviews of their experiences. This approach is bringing Hue to life on social media while giving travelers from around the world more interesting information to inspire their own experiences in the city.

The exhibition, through the language of photography, aims to strengthen Hue City's cultural diplomacy and expand cooperation with diplomatic missions of ASEAN countries in Vietnam. It will also help promote Hue as a heritage city and a distinctive Festival City of Vietnam, as well as an attractive cultural and tourism destination in the Central region. ​

Taking place from August 22 to 26 at Ba Cong artificial turf field, the Hue City 7-a-side Football Tournament - Huda Cup 2026 is organized by the Department of Culture and Sports in coordination with the Leano Group Tourism Media Co., Ltd. The tournament is one of the 19 activities within the Hue Sports Festival 2026.

On July 22nd, 2026, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Official Dispatch No. 4538/BVHTTDL-DSVH to Hue City People’s Committee, expressing its support for Hue in preparing an application to join the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) in the field of Gastronomy. This is an important step, providing further political and professional support for the city to concentrate resources, complete its application and work toward the 2027 selection cycle.

According to the information released by the Department of Tourism on the morning of August 20, based on survey data, the number of tourists to Hue during this year’s National Day holiday (September 2) is expected to keep on rising year-on-year, reaching an estimated 535,000 arrivals.

By hosting the Hue Heritage and International Music Festival 2026 - Hue Wonderverse Music Fest 2026, which is scheduled from August 30 to September 1, alongside the National Day Holiday on September 2, Hue City is expected to witness a surge in tourist arrivals. This may lead to a local ‘fully booked’ situation at certain peak times. Drawing from the experience of the last April 30 - May 1 holiday, the local tourism sector is developing plans to enhance its reception capacity and service quality.

“Chan May - Lang Co needs to be developed into a growth hub for industry, logistics, services and tourism in Hue City and the central region. Every decision on infrastructure investment must focus on long-term effectiveness, synchronization, and a clear roadmap, while having the capacity to create breakthroughs in socio-economic development,” Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Le Tri Thanh emphasized that at a meeting with the Department of Industry and Trade and the Management Board of Hue City Economic and Industrial Zones on August 12 to discuss infrastructure investment in economic zones, industrial parks, and industrial clusters, as well as investment attraction.

On the morning of August 9, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Le Tri Thanh conducted a field inspection of infrastructure supporting waterway tourism development on the Huong River, inspected the city’s urban flood drainage solutions, and checked on the progress in addressing coastal erosion at Thuan An beach.
