On the morning of April 18, the Kun Marathon Hue 2026 officially kicked off at Ngo Mon Square, attracting more than 2,500 young runners from various provinces and cities across the country. Kun Marathon Hue 2026 was held in response to the VnExpress Marathon Hue 2026 (scheduled for April 19). In addition to the familiar 700-meter run combined with obstacle challenges set within Hue’s heritage space, this year’s event carried the message “Protect All Species” and incorporated a series of educational and experiential environmental activities.

On April 18, the University of Education, Hue University, held a ceremony to award AMA scholarships with a total value of nearly VND 1.3 billion, funded by AMA Scholarship Fund, to 30 underprivileged students with outstanding academic efforts.

Following the proposal of Hue City Department of Culture and Sports, Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan, Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee, signed a decision to designate 18 sites across the city as city-level historical and cultural relics. Hue City People’s Committee announced the information on April 17th.

On the evening of April 17, Hue City People’s Committee held a ceremony to honor and confer the title of “Honorary Citizen of Hue City” to Mr. Kang Bong Jun, a South Korean national, General Director of SMC Hue Co. Ltd., in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the locality’s socio-economic development and international cooperation.

Such is the title of a book recently released by Thuan Hoa Publishing House in late March 2026. The more than 20 articles included in the book are the result of a dedicated process of research, documentation, and fieldwork by its two authors, Nguyen Duc Loc and Le Thi Mai An (currently working at the Hue City Museum of History).

The training course on implementing the “Safe Swimming and Drowning Prevention” Program 2026, organized by the city’s Department of Culture and Sports in coordination with the Vietnam Sports Administration (the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), officially opened on the morning of April 17 at 12 Hung Vuong Street (Thuan Hoa Ward, Hue City).

On the morning of April 17, Hue City Fisheries Association officially launched a project titled “Green Fisheries - A Circular Economic Initiative Led by Women in the Fisheries Sector in Hue City” (HUEFIS). On the morning of April 16, Hue City Association of the Blind organized a seminar to commemorate the 70th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's visit to the School for Blind War Veterans (1956 - 2026), the 57th anniversary of the Establishment of the Vietnam Blind Association (April 17, 1969 - April 17, 2026), and the 28th anniversary of Vietnam Disability Day (April 18, 1998 - April 18, 2026).

On the morning of April 16th, the University of Sciences, Hue University organized a series of activities in response to the 5th “Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day” 2026, attracting a large number of staff, lecturers, and students.

On April 16, the University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue University, coordinated with Phong Vu Trading, Service, Import-Export Co., Ltd to hold a regular scholarship awarding ceremony for the university’s students.
