On the afternoon of October 14th, as part of sidelines activities of the 5th Regional Conference of the Organization of World Heritage Cities - Asia-Pacific Region (OWHC-AP), Hue City Department of Education and Training organized a World Heritage Quiz Competition in the form of a Rung Chuong Vang (“Ring the Golden Bell”) game for local high school students.

The opening ceremony of the 5th Organization of World Heritage Cities Asia-Pacific (OWHC-AP) Regional Conference took place on the afternoon of October 14 at Silk Path Hotel (Hue City).

On the familiar green chalkboard, under the skillful hands of Ms. Le Thi Loc Phuong, an art teacher from Tu Ha Primary School No. 1 (Huong Tra Ward), the heritage sites of Hue such as Ngu Phung Pavilion, Thien Mu Pagoda’s bell tower, or the graceful curve of Truong Tien Bridge gradually come to life. Each delicate stroke of white and colored chalk transforms the classroom chalkboard into a lively painting, evoking an image of Hue that is both serene and poetic.

From October 14 to 16, Hue City will host the 5th Organization of World Heritage Cities Asia-Pacific (OWHC-AP) Regional Conference with the theme “Quality of life with sustainable development of World Heritage Cities”.

On the afternoon of October 9th, as part of “Hue - Innovation for Sustainable Development” (Hue Innovation Day 2025) event, a forum was held under the theme “Developing the Private Economy in Connection with Heritage Economy in Hue”. The event was jointly organized by Hue Institute for Development Studies, the Department of Science and Technology, and Hue Monuments Conservation Center.

In mid-July, Ngoc Khanh Hat boi and Tuong co Troupe (hat boi and tuong co are types of Vietnamese classical opera) and others from the South gave two performances at Thanh Binh Tu Duong, also known as Thanh Binh Tu. The ancestral house, which is located in Alley 281 on Chi Lang Street, Phu Xuan Ward, Hue City, is dedicated to founding fathers of tuong. This house of great historical and cultural value has been recognized as National Heritage Site.

Besides the ancient heritage architectural works with splendid beauty, future architects also depicted a truthful yet incredibly gentle portrayal when sketching modern constructions of Hue City on its development.

On the morning of October 5, Standing Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh inspected the preparations for Viettel Y-Fest 2025 event at Ngo Mon Square. The event is organized by Viettel Telecom (Viettel Telecommunications Corporation) under the theme “SYNC OF HEART - Harmonizing Empathy.”

When the theme for World Tourism Day (September 27, 2025) was chosen as “Tourism and sustainable transformation”, many people immediately thought of Hue’s approach to tourism. In its development orientation, Hue tourism consistently focuses on promoting sustainable transformation, especially transitioning to green, sustainable tourism, adapting to climate change.

The establishment and development of Hue Union of Literature and Arts Associations - abbreviated as the “Union” (originating from Thua Thien National Salvation Cultural Association in 1945), marks an important milestone in Hue’s cultural history. For 80 years, the Union has not only organized and gathered creative forces but has also served as a “pivot” connecting heritage with innovation, tradition with modernity, and artists with the public.
