“A steadfast anchorage” is the aspirations and hopes of generations of fishermen venturing out to sea and the local authorities of Thua Thien Hue province in their efforts to meet the evolving needs of the fishing community.

Many people go out to sea and never return, but deep-sea fishing for people in this countryside remains a passion.

Many difficulties and challenges notwithstanding, this year's fishery is identified as the year of achieving remarkable results with a total output of more than 41 thousand tons.

Scarcely had the boats been pushed into the sea, touching the water surface when the waves, in turn, hit the shore. The wind and waves struck the boat sides, causing the boat to wobble. But a few minutes later, the muscular men with the help of the sea village women successfully started the boats for a squid fishing trip which would last more than 12 hours.

Tam Giang brackish water lagoon system is the Southeast Asia's largest, located 30 km from Hue City. The lush mangrove forest not only creates conservation areas for aquatic resources, helping the Tam Giang lagoon to put on a new color, but also protects the habitat from the impact of climate change, creating more livelihoods for local people, from fishing to community tourism.

Coming to Ngu My Thanh, visitors can engage in many activities with the local people, experience water activities, including seeking clams with feet, trawling, harvesting, knitting nets, and fishing.
