The way of life, following the flow of the tides, has captivated visitors with peaceful and interesting activities, such as: paddle boat rowing, net casting, setting traps, weaving nets, fishing, and exploring the mangrove forests...

Through a series of photos taken by photographer Nguyen Phong, Hue Today Weekly invites readers to visit Ngu My Thanh for a completely different experience during the corn harvest season.

With its sandy soil, the people of Ngu My Thanh make use of every piece of land they can to grow corn alongside peanuts and various other vegetables, in addition to their work in fishing. Here, the locals almost never use pesticides to nurture their corn, so as soon as the corn reaches harvest time, every household must rush to harvest it, racing against the destructive pests. After harvesting, the corns are sold at local markets, and also boiled fresh to be sold on-site to passing customers. The sticky corn fields provide the people of Ngu My Thanh with an additional source of income, while also adding vibrant green colors to the natural landscape of the area, making the scenery even more lively and peaceful...

The lichee trees from the lichees honorably presented to the Court still grow well and are giving fruit adding to the beauty of the Imperial City. Besides, trees from lichees granted by the kings to mandarins and those who had just passed an exam give fruit as sweet and fragrant.
