Hue University is at a juncture of opportunity and development requirements on its journey toward becoming a National University before 2030. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Quoc Huy, Acting President of Hue University, shared with Hue Today Weekly the strategic directions and key solutions for achieving this goal.

With its strategic geographic location, logistics infrastructure, special policy mechanisms, and commitment to green development, Hue City is positioning itself to attract high-quality investment capital. On the morning of June 30, in Hanoi, the Politburo held a national conference to study, disseminate, and realize the Politburo’s Resolution No. 10-NQ/TW dated June 8, 2026, on the development of the foreign-invested economic sector.

Being nominated for “Asia’s Leading Cultural City Destination” at the World Travel Awards (WTA) 2026 can be considered an encouraging sign for the potential development of Vietnam’s cultural and tourism sectors.

On June 19th, a working delegation from Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Committee, led by Vice Chairwoman of Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Committee Vuong Ngoc Ha, had a meeting with Hue City People's Committee to exchange experience in heritage management, preservation, and promotion in connection with tourism development and cultural industries.

To realize this strategy, intellectuals, scientists, experts, and traditional local knowledge are regarded as a key force contributing to Hue’s sustainable growth.

On June 11th, Mr. Hoang Hai Minh, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, held a working session with a South Korean delegation. The meeting aimed to promote cooperation in transportation and urban infrastructure projects while exploring the application of the transit-oriented development (TOD) model associated with Vietnam’s North-South High-Speed Railway.
