On July 20, Hue Central Hospital hosted the 7th Imperial City Eye Meeting 2026 (ICEM 2026) under the theme “From Fundamentals to Challenges in Surgery.” Taking place from July 20 - 22, the event brings together over 200 ophthalmologists, researchers, and healthcare professionals from Vietnam and abroad to discuss the latest advances in ophthalmology, strengthen international collaboration, and enhance the quality of eye care services for the public.

From July 16 to 21, a delegation from Hue City, led by Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Tran Huu Thuy Giang, attended the 48th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee (WHC48) in Busan, South Korea. During the visit, the delegation also organized a series of large-scale cultural and tourism promotion events in Seoul and Busan.

“Loi ca chau ngoc” (Precious Lyrics of Ca Hue) is a collection of Ca Hue (Hue Singing) repertoires collected and compiled by the poet Vo Que. This work is not only a product of the author’s passion for Ca Hue, but also the result of a serious working process.

On July 13th and 14th, Hue Odonto-Stomatology Hospital, in collaboration with Hong Lien Foundation, Inc., organized a community outreach program providing free dental examinations, consultations, and treatment, along with charitable donations, for residents in the mountainous district of A Luoi. On the afternoon of July 14, a delegation from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City, and socio-political organizations, led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Ai Van, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, and Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City, visited and encouraged officers and soldiers of Team 192, who are carrying out the “500 days and nights campaign to search, recover, and identify martyrs’ remains”.

After nearly a decade of sustained cooperation with Kanto International Senior High School in Tokyo, Japan, Hai Ba Trung High School in Hue City has developed a meaningful model of international exchange. Through classroom lessons, experiential activities, charity programmes and homestays in Japan, students from both countries have not only deepened their understanding of each other’s cultures but also broadened their intercultural awareness, strengthened their appreciation of cultural identity and fostered friendship between Vietnam and Japan.

The 2026 National U18 5x5 Basketball Championship, hosted by Hue City, officially opened on the evening of July 12 at the Multi-purpose Gymnasium of the Faculty of Physical Education, Hue University.
