The book launch was organized by the Hue Museum of History, in collaboration with the Ca Hue Chamber Club, and the author. The event took place on July 15 at the historical memorial site of the renowned cultural figure Ung Binh at Chau Huong Vien (Nguyen Sinh Cung St., My Thuong Ward).

The lyrics of Ca Hue featured in this book were mostly composed by authors of the Nguyen Royal lineage, literati, and poets. The contents are not only deeply lyrical but also imbued with traditional moral and philosophical values. This work represents a sophisticated fusion of court literature and folk culture, reflecting the noble, profound, and elegant soul of the intellectual and aristocratic classes in Hue life.

The book is not merely a collection of valuable documents but also a dedication and passion of the author in devoting to preserving, conserving, and spreading the inner voice of the Ancient Capital to readers far and wide.

Speaking at the book launch, the representative of the Hue Museum of History shared that when thinking of Hue, people do not only recall the solemn system of royal mausoleums or the poetic Huong River, but also the deep and profound melodies of Ca Hue, a sophisticated fusion of court music and folk melodies, that has been honored as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Ca Hue has become an integral part of the nation’s cultural heritage system, reflecting the refinement, depth, and rich emotions of the Vietnamese people. Today, Ca Hue continues to be performed and developed, serving as a signature cultural icon of Hue in particular and the entire country in general.

However, in the face of rapid globalization and shifting contemporary public tastes, this artistic heritage is confronting numerous challenges.

In this context, the Hue Museum of History has collaborated with the poet Vo Que to publish the book “Loi ca chau ngoc.” This is considered a dedicated effort to further preserve and promote the values of Ca Hue art in contemporary life.
