On the afternoon of May 8th, the Standing Committee of Hue City Party Committee held a working session with a delegation from the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), led by Prof. Dr. Tran Hong Thai, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Commission, and President of VAST, to assess the implementation results of the 2025–2030 science and technology cooperation agreement between the two parties.

The National Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling Club Championship 2026 concluded at noon on May 8 in Hue City. At the Championship, the host team made a remarkable breakthrough in the freestyle wrestling overall standings.

The 3rd HTA Group Cup Football Tournament – 2026 kicked off on the afternoon of May 7 at Green City Stadium (My Thuong Ward, Hue City). On the afternoon of March 7, the art photography exhibition themed “Perspectives on heritage” offered the public an emotionally rich artistic space, featuring 90 works by photographers from Hanoi, Hue, and Ho Chi Minh City. The artwork “Whispers” by Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen, a student from the University of Arts, Hue University, has recently been honored as an outstanding work at the 8th “Hue Young Fine Arts Award” 2026.

The Duong No Village Festival 2026, jointly organized by Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hue City and Duong No Ward People’s Committee on the occasion of the 136th Birth Anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2026), and in response to the Summer Festival 2026, will take place from May 14 to 16.

On May 6, the University of Sciences, Hue University, held an opening ceremony for the 2026 HUSC Student Volleyball Tournament in a lively and energetic atmosphere, drawing large numbers of students, lecturers, and staff members.

Nearly 200 high school students took part in an “outdoor lesson” right within a heritage space, where historical knowledge was accessed through games, challenges, and hands-on experience, making it more vivid and easier to remember.

On May 5, the University of Foreign Languages and International Studies, Hue University (HUFLIS), officially announced the launch of the International Communication major (code: 7320107) under the Decision No. 567/QD-DHH dated April 17, 2026, issued by Hue University.

On May 5, following the directives of the City People’s Committee and in line with Resolution 55/2025/NQ-HĐND, Hue Monuments Conservation Center announced a pilot program to verify eligibility for the beneficiaries of reduced heritage entrance fees via the e-ticketing system.
