On May 4, Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee, on behalf of the leadership and people of Hue City, sent a letter of appreciation to valued domestic and international visitors who chose Hue as their destination during the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day holiday and the holidays of Reunification Day (April 30) and International Workers' Day (May 1). On the evening of May 1st, the People’s Committee of Hue City announced that, on the same day, the city’s heritage site system recorded the highest-ever number of visitors and ticket revenue in a single day. This result further affirms the strong appeal of Hue as a destination in general, and particularly during the April 30th - May 1st holiday.

More than half a century since the homeland’s liberation (March 26, 1975 – March 26, 2026), Hue’s urban landscape has undergone significant transformation, marked by newly widened roads, bridges spanning rivers and lagoons, modern urban zones, and an increasingly synchronized technical infrastructure system.

On the occasion of April 30 - May 1 holidays marking Reunification Day and International Workers’ Day, young people in Hue and tourists are drawn to vibrant check-in spots decked out with the colors of the red flag with yellow star, vintage coffee shops, and heritage-rich spaces steeped in local identity. Beyond an opportunity for “checking-in”, these destinations offer a chance for the young to find balance, recharge, and enjoy the holiday in a way that is both reflective and vividly expressive.

On the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026), on April 29, under authorization, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Nguyen Van Manh visited and presented gifts from General Secretary and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam To Lam to meritorious beneficiaries currently being cared for at Hue City Center for Nursing and Care for People with Meritorious Service.

In the atmosphere of commemorating the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026), and the 140th anniversary of International Workers' Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2026), on the morning of April 27, Mr. Trinh Van Quyet, Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, and Head of the Central Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization, visited and presented gifts to policy beneficiary families, poor households, and households in difficult circumstances in Hue City.

More than 16,000 martyrs’ graves in cemeteries across the city remain largely unidentified. The journey of surveying, collecting biological samples, and conducting DNA testing is not only a political mission, but also an effort to restore names to those who sacrificed their lives for the Fatherland, so that their families no longer have to wait in vain.

On the morning of April 27th, the Department of Tourism reported that the total number of visitors to Hue during this year’s Hung Kings’ Commemoration holiday was estimated at around 310.500. This marks a sharp increase compared to the same holiday in 2025, when Hue welcomed 109.000 visitors.

On the afternoon of April 26th, Vietnam Haiku Poetry Club - Hue Ancient Capital branch held a gathering and poetry - music exchange to commemorate the 51st anniversary of National Reunification Day (April 30th, 1975 - April 30th, 2026). The event also included the induction of new members, contributing to the spread of verses associated with April memories and love for the homeland.

The Quoc Tu Giam heritage site is currently being dismantled as part of a large-scale conservation and restoration project with a total budget of more than 108 billion VND.
