Winter-Spring Crop: The Season of Prosperity

HNN.VN - I did not grow up in a family devoted solely to farming, yet my childhood held a clear and gentle chapter shaped by the cycles of rain and sun in my grandparents’ fields. Those years, and the memories they carry, have left a lasting mark, so that even now, I am stirred by an inexpressible emotion whenever I see farmers busily preparing for a new sowing season.

Amid days of cold rain and floodwaters submerging the fields, Hue welcomes a return of warm sunshine. As the waters recede across different stretches of farmland, farmers make the most of the moment, clearing and restoring their fields to prepare them for the new winter-spring crop.

Grateful for the fertile land and looking ahead to a bountiful winter-spring harvest season, Hue Today Weekly would like to introduce readers to a series of photos taken by photographer Phan Thang, captured in Thanh Phuoc fields of Hoa Chau, the heart of the flood-prone region.

As the sun rises higher, we extend our best wishes to the farmers, may their steps be steady and resilient, so that the young rice seedlings soon take root, grow strong and green, and usher in a season of warm and abundant harvest.

Before flowing into neighboring Laos, the A Sap River gathers alluvial deposits that enrich the riverbanks, creating a vast watershed for the A Luoi region. From this advantage, “fishermen” in the highlands have developed capture fisheries and aquaculture, contributing to the formation of a riverside community - future prosperous “fishing villages” along the river.
