Two projects by Hue students compete in the National Startup Final Round

HNN.VN - On April 19th, the final round of the 7th Students with Startup Ideas Competition in 2025 officially kicked off at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education. This event is part of the 7th National Startup Day for Students.

At the final round of the competition, Hue City had two projects selected as finalists. These are the project titled “Tea, instant cereal, and lozenges made from Kim Thuy Luc Quan remedy of the Imperial Medical Institute under the Nguyen Dynasty to treat respiratory problems” by students from Phu Bai High School, and another titled “Materials for crafting Hue conical hats and Sinh village paintings from banana tree waste and oyster shells” by students from Thua Luu High School.

The product presented by Phu Bai High School students includes tea bags, soluble instant cereal, and lozenges derived from Kim Thuy Luc Quan traditional remedy of Imperial Medical Institute under the Nguyen Dynasty. These products are instrumental in supporting the treatment of respiratory problems and meet established quality standards for soluble instant cereal and lozenges.

Meanwhile, the product by Thua Luu High School students focuses on deriving materials for crafting Hue’s iconic conical hats and Kraft paper for Sinh village folk paintings from banana tree trunks waste and oyster shells.

Taking place from April 18th to 20th, the program is jointly organized by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Finance, and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).

The Students with Startup Ideas Competition in 2025 was launched in December 2024 and received 775 startup project submissions from students at universities, vocational institutions, and general education schools. From the semi-final round, MOET selected the 125 most outstanding projects to advance to the finals.

According to the Organizing Committee, this year’s startup ideas are diverse and of high quality, with many projects focusing on addressing pressing community and societal issues. The program aims to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation, ignite students’ aspirations to start their own ventures and cultivate a culture of innovative entrepreneurship across educational institutions.
