| Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Tran Huu Thuy Giang spoke at the conference |
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Tran Huu Thuy Giang said that Hue’s tourism sector had recorded positive signs in the first 10 months of the year. The total number of visitor arrivals in Hue was estimated at more than 6.9 million, up 28.36% year-on-year, including over 2 million international visitors.
However, global uncertainties, energy prices, transportation costs, and economic instability have posed numerous difficulties and challenges for the tourism sector. The changing context calls for appropriate new policies, including well-targeted tourism stimulus policies.
According to the Vice Chairman, every locality and destination has its own strengths and weaknesses. Based on a review and assessment of the existing tourism products, the city will restructure its tourism products and develop new ones, focusing on medical tourism, wellness tourism, culinary tourism, rainy-season tourism, and event-based tourism products.
