Prior to that, on July 16, the Forest Protection Department of Hue City had received an individual of clouded monitor lizard from Mr. Tran Van Son, living at 298 Le Duan Street (Hue City). This individual wild animal was accidentally discovered by Mr. Son in his garden, he then contacted the authority to hand it over.

The individual of clouded monitor lizard was in good health when being received by the Department. The clouded monitor lizard weighs 5.5 kilograms, with scientific name “Varanus nebulosus”, which is listed in the IB group. The Department is taking care and nurturing the individual, as well as carrying out procedures to establish ownership rights of the whole people. At the same time, the Department is coordinating with the Center for Rescue, Conservation and Development of Creatures, Bach Ma National Park to release this clouded monitor lizard into the natural environment.
