Receiving the endangered and rare pangolin

HNN.VN - According to the Provincial Forest Protection Department, on December 31, the forest rangers received a critically rare and endangered pangolin from a citizen who voluntarily handed it over via the hotline.

 Receiving the pangolin from Ms. Hien

The pangolin weighs 2.5kg, and it is in normal health. It belongs to the Javan pangolin species, a critical rare and endangered wildlife species under Group IB, requiring strict protection as stipulated by law.

Previously, this pangolin individual was discovered in the garden of Ms. Le Thi Hien, living in La Khe Bai Hamlet, Huong Tho Commune (Hue City). Recognizing it as a rare and valuable species, Ms. Hien contacted the authorities via the hotline to hand it over with the desire to release it back into nature.

From the beginning of the year, forest protection units received 73 wildlife individuals voluntarily handed over by local people via the hotline.
