Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Le Thi Hien, Chairwoman of the City's Red Cross Society, called on officers, civil servants, public employees, armed forces, youth union members, youth, students, and the general public to actively participate in the blood donation movement. This year's program takes place from May 1 to June 30, 2025, across the city, aiming to mobilize at least 5,000 blood units to serve emergency and treatment efforts, while spreading the spirit of humanity and community responsibility.

The “Red Journey” is currently the largest nationwide blood donation campaign, held annually with the compassionate message of “Connecting Vietnamese blood - spreading love - saving people in critical condition”.

The Organizing Committee, in coordination with the National Coordinating Center for Organ Transplantation - Hue Central Hospital, organized organ and tissue donation registration, honored 3 individuals and 3 collectives with outstanding achievements in the online sports campaign “Millions of compassionate steps - Continuing the golden history”, launched by the Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee; and presented 50 gifts to 50 households in difficult circumstances in Phu Loc.

After more than 10 years of implementation, the program has affirmed its important role in propagating and mobilizing blood donation nationwide, making a positive contribution to the work of taking care of People's health. In Hue City, the voluntary blood donation movement always meets and exceeds the assigned targets annually; each year, more than 30,000 blood units are donated, which are the “red drops of kindness”, bringing life to many patients.
